Shifra - that was an amazing post! Thanks for sharing it, and on my blog no less. I'm honored!
When are you starting national syndication?
Shifra, that was awesome. You da woman!
Kudos to you for realizing that something was wrong with the picture and doing something about it.
Yay for oneg Shabbos and shalom bayit!
That's so like me...
except without the wife to keep me in line :-P
I am the queen of using 18 minutes. Someone came into my apartment the other Friday and said, "Good Shabbos" as I was about to head into the shower (at licht-bentching), and I said, "It isn't Shabbos yet!" and got into the shower. And I am a woman. So it's not the exclusive domain of men. Also, my sainted mother would light Shabbos candles, having in mind that she still needed to shower, and would take a shower after, and accept Shabbos as soon as she got out of the shower. I have adopted this custom as well. (Not lechatchila, but because I'm always so damn late.)
That was a really good post.
