Money well spent
For those of you who were wondering after reading the guest post...
Yes, my daughter attends a Modern Orthodox, Ivrit b'ivrit style, yeshiva day school.
Thanks to all of you (and especially Bas Shifra herself) for making me feel like my tution dollars have not gone completely to waste...

i'm shocked. I figured for sure you sent her to a chassidishe school and had english book and videos at home.
עברית בעברית
?
אז כנראה בתך חייבת לכתוב את הפוסט הבא שלה בעברית
(now how do you actually spell "eeeeehhhhh...." in Hebrew?) ;-)
There should be a way to conjugate "post," but then I went to Yeshiva. Understanding what Steg wrote is clearly my biggest accomplishment this summer.

Best thing I've read all summer!
How about an "ע" with the three dots under it an a triangle like this:"עעעעעההההה"
just curious, because my kids go to an ivrit b'ivrit style school as well, and my son is about yuor daughter's age. Can your daughter speak ivrit? My kid can understand it, but I don't think he can speak it very well, outside of a classroom setting.
Good question.
I think my daughter is in the same boat. She understands very well but can't or won't speak much...
She can write hebrew decently, but speaking is harder for whatever reason.
After I read your daughter's post, I forwarded it my husband, with a note that read, this is what I want for our children. I want them to be intelligent, articulate, insightful and talented. You can give credit to your children's school, but it really starts in the home, and you and your husband should be really proud of your accomplishments.
Sounds great, ah but do they remind her how terrible slits in your skirt are like 100 times a day
No no, this is a MODERN ORTHODOX day school. There is no talk of slits whatsoever. I went to a Bais Yaakov High School though so I know all about it....
